We are a few families with children suffering from orphan diseases and we created in June 1993 an association in order to break our geographical isolation in the area of Ancenis. Together we tried to find some support adapted to our children.
At that time only the C.A.M.P.S. in Nantes and Angers could offer some care but limited from one hour to a whole morning every week, which implied much fatigue considering the time of preparation and driving requested, this way was not satisfying.
The first years were very difficult. All the children less than 3 years old were not taken into account. As to those who were between 3 to 6 years old, they had to be either boarders or endure at least one hour's trip.
It became even worse when the child got 6 years old: the available places were scarce and too far away, and not only was it tring to go there but it was very expensive.
Through the association we could
share our difficulties, our sorrows and experiences. We cheered up each other…
